Using the Neutral Auction House

One of the rarely used features in the World of Warcraft is the goblin or neutral auction house, example of which is the one found in Booty Bay. These AHs usually take a larger cut on your sale but this does not mean that you can’t use it to make more WoW gold for yourself.

AS we all know, the neutral Auction Houses was made to transfer gold and items to your characters of different factions. Players can make Horde and Alliance toons in non-PvP realms. So the neutral AH is sort of like a mailbox between your horde and alliance characters.

You might be asking how to use this to your advantage? It’s simple really. As an auctioneer you must be in command of every aspect of financial advantages the game can give. You might chance upon a Fel Hardened Maul going for only 20 copper. Now that’s a bargain.

Yeah, I know it’s not for you and this is tactic won’t earn you any more friends but you got to do what you got to do for those WoW gold. This would involve a lot of pushing the refreshing button, this sure beats grinding.

Timing is also of an essence. You will only have a few seconds to snatch the item from the AH, the time the person who posted the item to log in his other account to buy it. Quickness is of the essence. Plus you’ll have the disadvantage of not knowing what item to look for.

This strategy is not recommended for everyone. And you should not gamble away a lot of time waiting for an item to be posted. 2 hours of senseless button pushing would be enough. This WoW gold making scheme requires a lot of patience of perseverance. If you don’t have any of those traits, it is better to stay away from doing this one.

To perfectly execute this scheme, you need to have the Auctioneer add-on with a bottom scanner. This add-on lets you see the latest items first. You can also adjust its filters so that that the search will be refined and it will notify you once an item comes up that meet your criteria. It is best to keep the Bottom Scanner turned on when doing this.

You have to be ready to make a few enemies if you do this sort of tactic. If you can take the harassment, threats and possibly a GM report then go for it. Though it looks like you’re stealing from someone, well you are but it is still legal. You didn’t scam or deceive anyone and you have gotten hold of the item through a very legal process. If you’re conscience can stomach this then go for it.

Limited Supplies Offers Unlimited Profit

One thing about many World of Warcraft players is that they want things handed to them on silver platter. This means that if you are able and willing to travel the world and find the limited supply items from vendors, then you can cash in on these players. Many times, players may know where something can be found, but they don’t want to make the trip to go get it. They don’t want to spend an extra 20 minutes traveling to another continent, getting to the vendor in order to get their item.

If you can, and are willing to do so, then take advantage of that and hike the price a bit when you place it on on the auction house. Sure, some people will complain, and you may see it in trade chat. But, hey if they weren’t so lazy they could have got it at the price you did! Why should you not make a profit for doing the hard work for them?

There are plenty of these items found throughout the game, but here’s a very short list to get you started…(As you discover new areas, always keep a notepad and write down the limited supplies you find. Check each vendor and look for items that have only a certain number of them available)

Tanaris

Transmute Mithril To TrueSilver (Alchemist Pestlezugg, 80 Silver)

Nature Protection Potion (Alchemist Pestlezugg, 20 Silver)

The Barrens

Greater Adept’s Robe Pattern (from Ranik at 61/38)

Tirisfal Glades

Major Healing Potion (Argent Quartermaster Hasana, 36 Silver)

Major Mana Potion (Argent Quartermaster Hasana, 36 Silver)

Orgrimmar

Recipe for Rage Potion (Hagras, near 46/46, 1 Silver)

The Best Profession To Farm For Gold

Although I still think that Mining is the number one profession in WoW when in comes to making gold, Enchanting is a close second. Skinning and Herbalism do make a lot of gold as well but they don’t match the potential of Enchanting.

We all know that selling enchanting materials in the Auction House is free. Plus there is a never ending demand for enchanting materials. There are lots of ways to profit from Enchanting.

One way to profit from it is to buy cheap greens from the Auction House and Disenchant them. Then the mats you get from the Disenchantment could be sold in the Auction House.

Another way is to find someone that can make a Fel Iron Blood Ring or Golden Draenite Ring. These are the cheapest items to make but would be rewarding if disenchanted. According to my server’s economics, each ring would cost a maximum of 3 gold to make. When disenchanted, a ring can give you 2 arcane dusts or 2 lesser planar essence each. Plus there is a chance that you could get small prismatic shard from them.

Farming For Primal Mana While Doing Daily Quests

I’ve noticed that whenever I do the Maintaining the Sunwell Portal daily quest I usually get a number of Motes of Mana. This made me think: What if I farm for Primal Mana on this spot? Would it be worth my time?

So one day, I decided to try and farm Bash’ir Landing for Primal Mana. Luckily I was the only one in the area. I also got the Bash’ir Phasing Device from the first ethereal killed. Once in phased state, I started my timer for an hour. Then I started my phase wyrm killing spree.

I wasn’t able to count the number of Phase Wyrms killed because I was busy trying to kill as many in an hour as I possibly could. When the time was up I had 70 Motes of Mana which is equivalent to 7 Primal Manas. I can sell these for at least 20 gold a piece. Plus I got trash items that I can sell to NPCs for quick gold conversion.

The result of my experiment is promising. I see this as a simple way to farm for WoW gold. Although you have to be level 70 and have a flying mount for this.
