Skinning For Thick Clefthoof Leather In Nagrand

Skinning is one of the easiest ways to make money in WoW regardless of your character’s level. Once you reach the low to mid 60s there’s a great opportunity to get Thick Clefthoof Leather from all of the varieties of Clefthoofs in Nagrand.

On my server, Greymane, right now Thick Clefthoof Leather is going for between 150 – 200g a stack. Single pieces are around 6g (which is twice the buyout listed at Wowhead).

Of course the drop rate on these is pretty slim but on the bright side you will get a lot of Knothide Leather which is an easy Auction House sell.

Make Gold Selling Common Pets From The Other Faction

I’ll warn you right from the start that this technique requires a little teamwork between you and a friend. The idea is that while some pets sell well on the Auction House the quickest to sell, and the rarest, tend to be pets from the other faction. I play Horde and when an Alliance pet (like an Owl) shows up on our Auction House it doesn’t usually last very long.

So there’s an opportunity here for any low level characters looking to make some money. The amounts you’ll make probably aren’t big enough for higher level players to worry with. If you’re still interested, here’s how I do this.

First, create a new character on the opposite faction. You can either grind this character out to make enough gold to start buying the more common pets or you can have someone donate the gold to you. Eventually you’ll have enough gold to start buying pets to sell.

Once you have a pet ready to sell you need to get it to your character on the other faction. This is where teamwork gets involved. You can’t send items through in-game mail to characters on the other faction so that is out. So you’ll need to use a neutral Auction House. The problem here is that you can’t buy things on the Auction House that another character on your account is selling.

The work around is simple but takes coordination. You need to list your pet on a neutral Auction House for a few pieces of copper and then have a friend with a Horde character purchase it right away before anyone else does. Then that friend can mail it in-game to your own Horde character and you’re good to go.

Auction House Trick

WoW Guide Primal FireThis is WoW Guide on buying low and selling high at the Auction House.

Today, we’re going to try and buy things in bulk and sell them off separately for a cheaper price. I am going to use Primals for this example as I find these the most profitable. All you do is search for every single primal in the Auction House and scroll down to the places where they are sold in stacks of 5 or 10. Now compare the prices with the Primals being sold separately. For example, if you see a primal being sold for 25g and a stack of 10 for 200g, buy the stack of 10 and then relist them separately at 24g each (or whatever you choose).

I just chose Primals for this example but you can use this for any item such as shards, essences etc.

Motes To Primals

FreeWoW Gold Farming Guide Primal ShadowThis is a WoW Gold Guide on Motes to Primals.

Ok, I admit that this isn’t a really good guide.. But I sometimes find that you can get 10 motes of the same type for a lot less than the price of 1 primal. This is what you can do:

  1. Jot down the price of all the Primals in the AH (eg. Primal Shadow)
  2. Check the price of the mote needed to make the Primal (eg. Mote of Fire)
  3. If it’s significantly cheaper, buy them

Most people sell the motes only because they don’t know how to turn them into Primals. By just checking WoW Head, the average buyout for one Mote of Shadow is 2g 50s; the average buyout of one Primal Shadow is 30g. It’s a quick way to make money I guess :)

Tip: You could also try transmuting Primals from one that is cheap on your server to one that is expensive.
