Blood Elf Bandit Masks

I was wondering why Blood Elf Bandit Masks were priced high on the Auction House. It is a level 5 head gear with no bonus attributes. Then I learned that this is favorite item for those with level 19 twinks.

What’s nice about the Blood Elf Bandit Mask is that it does not bind when equipped and it can be worn by any class. The downside is that only the Blood Elf Bandit drops this mask. Imagine that. He is located at Azuremyst Isle, the Draenei’s starting zone.

Only one Blood Elf Bandit spawns in the isle at a given time and in certain locations only. If you know the locations, you can easily farm for the mask with your high level alt.

I advise that you use your high level alt with epic mount in farming for this mask. Though the bandit can be easily killed by your lower level toon, its spawn locations are far from each other. Therefore you can easily go from point to point with the use of your epic mount. Also, sneaking to the isle from Darkshore will not be an easy task for low level characters.

A Blood Elf Bandit Mask on my server goes for around 50 gold. There are reports that in some servers it go to as high as 70 gold.

Farming For Spider Silk

Spider silk can bring in lots of WoW gold. It is a material for Tailoring, Engineering and Leatherworking. A common mistake players do with their shadow silks is to sell them to NPCs when they can have more gold if they put it on the Auction House.
There are 5 different types of Spider Silks.

#1. Spider’s Silk
Spider’s Silks are used by leatherworkers to produce Toughened Leather Gloves while tailors use them to make Spidersilk Boots. These are sought after item for low level twinks therefore sells well in the Auction House. Spider’s Silks are sold for 1 gold a piece in my server.

3 Farming hotspots:

  • Plains Creepers of Arathi Highlands
  • Deepmoss Venomspitter of Stonetalon Mountains
  • Forest Moss Creeper of Hillsbrad

#2. Thick Spider’s Silk
Thick Spider’s Silks are used by engineers for the Gnomish Net-o-Matic Projector which is a favorite for players who enjoy the Battlegrounds. They are also used by leatherworkers for Swift Boots. Tailors use them for Icy Cloak. Because there are no notable item that can be made, except for the Gnomish Net-o-Matic Projector, Thick Spider’s Silks are priced much lower than Spider’s Silk. These can be bought from the AH for 25 silver a piece.

3 Farming hotspots:

  • Sand Skitterer of Silithius
  • Greater Lava Spider of Searing Gorge
  • Glassweb Spider of Searing Gorge

#3. Shadow Silk
Shadow Silks are used by engineers in making the Gnomish Net-o-Matic Projector while Tailors use it to make the Shadoweave items. Like the Thick Spider’s Silks, Shadow Silks are priced lower than the Spider’s Silks and are priced roughly the same at around 25 silver a piece.

3 Farming hotspots:

  • Crypt Stalker of Eastern Plaguelands
  • Plague Lurker of Western Plaguelands
  • Carrion Lurker of Western Plaguelands

#4. Iron Spider Silk
Before Burning Crusade, Iron Spider Silks are in demand because it is the material for a couple of epic items, 18 to be exact. It is also needed to make the Goblin Jumper Cable XL. Iron Spider Silks are still much in demand these days and are sold for 2 gold a piece.

3 Farming hotspots:

  • Plague Lurker of Western Plaguelands
  • Sand Skitterer of Silithius
  • Carrion Lurker of Western Plaguelands

#5. Netherweb Spider Silk
This is my personal favorite among all the spider silks. Netherweb Spider Silks are used by high level tailors a lot. One of the things it is needed for is the Imbued Netherweave Bag, which could be sold at the Auction House for at least 45 gold on my server. A single Netherweb spider Silk can fetch a minimum of 10 gold per piece.

Farming For Aldor Rep And Gold At The Same Time

If you have convinced yourself that grinding is fun, then go to the Arklon Ruins in Netherstorm. It is just Southeast of Area 52. This spot is awesome especially if you’re an Aldor skinner.

Felblade DoomguardThere are two mobs in this area that you are looking for: the Felblade Doomguards and the Artifact Seekers. Both of these mobs drop Marks of Sargeras and Fel Armament. Even if you’re not Aldor, you can make quick gold by selling these items in the Auction House. Last time I checked, a Mark of Sargeras is selling for 1 gold a piece and Fel Armaments are pegged at 15 to 25 gold a piece.

Artifact Seekers could be skinned for Fel Hide and Heavy Knothide Leather. This is an added bonus for Aldor leatherworkers farming this spot.

Add in the green items and the netherweave cloths that these mobs drop and I think that it is time well spent grinding in Arklon Ruins. Best of all, I think this farming spot doesn’t have many players grinding there. Last time I did my grind there I was alone in the ruins. So grab your food and drinks and start grinding in the Arklon Ruins.

Farming Spot For Motes Of Water In Nagrand

I’ve been leveling up my main in Nagrand lately and I came across a decent spot to farm for Motes of Water. I’m sure there are other, even better, locations to do this but I had a lot of success in this particular spot so I thought I’d write a post about it.

My “secret spot” is the large lake northeast of Garadar and immediately south of the Throne of the Elements. Here’s a map to make things clearer:

I was getting Motes of Water from the elementals at a pretty good clip. It helps if you have something that will give you water breathing though.
