Probably one of the most disregarded yet profitable secondary professions in the World of Warcraft is fishing. Most WoW players think of it as a waste of time. All you do is to cast your bobber into a body of water and wait for it to bob. Most players don’t have the patience for it. If only they know that WoW gold is what they can catch with their hook and line. Don’t laugh at someone fishing the day away. He might have more gold than all of your characters combined.
The first thing you need to do is to look for a Fishing Trainer to get the Fishing Skill and buy a fishing pole. Don’t settle for the normal one. The bigger fishing skill you have, the better your chances of landing a catch. There are fishing poles that add points to ones fishing. It would lessen the chance of the fish to get away. You could also use lures or hooks to add to your fishing skill.
You might be wondering what would have after hours of fishing? Well, fish of course. But not only that, there are instances where you’ll fish out other items such as foot lockers that contain items you could vend in the auction house. These are rare and therefore the items tend to be worth something in the Auction House.
The fish could be eaten raw or you can cook it to give additional buffs. When cooked, the amount of health gained by eating it is far higher than the raw one. You’ll be leveling two skills in the process as well. Your fishing and cooking will level up at the same time. Now that’s good use of your time in the World of Warcraft.
If you’re a Hunter, you can feed the extra fish to your pet. If you’re not then you can convert the extra fish into gold by selling it in the Auction House. Food is always in demand and would definitely rake in a couple of gold for you.
Leveling up your fishing skill is easy. You just need a body of water and your fishing pole. But to make gold from your fishing, you must go to the higher level areas. The fish that would be caught there are more valuable than from the low level areas. Alchemists need some fish for their potions. So don’t throw anything you catch.
