Runecloth farming is made easy when The Burning Crusade arrived. In the Classic World of Warcraft days, runcloth is farmed inside instances. But today, the Outlands is a good source for runecloth. If you’re with the Alliance, one such spot is the Expedition Armory. It is located south of Honor Hold in the Hellfire Peninsula.

In the Expedition Armory you can find three mobs, which are Unyielding Footman, Unyielding Knight and Unyielding Sorcerer. Runecloth drop rate from these mobs are around 34%. But the best mobs to look for are the Unyielding Sorcerers. These ghosts would usually drop more than one runecloth more often than the Unyielding Knight and Unyielding Footman.

One way to do this grind is by starting on the line of Footmen on the east. Start from the top going down. Then go to the west and start circling the tower. Once you finished the mobs around the tower, the Footmen would be respawning. Then restart your grind at the beginning.

One hour of farming this spot yields an average of 120 runecloths and at least 20 netherweave cloths. Not to mention the gold, vendor trash, and green items that could be looted from the mobs as well. Runecloths are in demand these days because a lot of players are building their reps for the Diplomat achievement. While others might find the netherweave cloth to be a nuisance, any loot you gather would mean more gold for you. Plus, netherweave cloth costs more than a runecloth.

What’s best about the Expedition Armory is the respawn rate of the mobs in the area. This is a quest area so expect some competition while farming. And once the secret is out, you might encounter some farmers as well. I suggest farming during the off-peak of our server but then again if the farmers are of the professional kind then I suggest that you find another spot to do your own farming.

Overall, farming for runecloth in the Expedition Armory is a profitable endeavor. You’ll be looting gold that could cover your repair bill. The runecloths and other items would be compensation enough for your time and effort. Farming in the Outlands is far better and profitable than in Azeroth. You’ll be getting more gold per mob and the items looted would sell higher than the loot in the old world. Even the vendor trash costs around 1gold each. Not bad for something that’s only discarded.

For Alliance low level Miners, Elwynn Forest is their favorite place. The mobs around the region might not drop wondrous items that could be worth a lot in the Auction House, the place is full of copper veins and herbs that could be worth your time going around it.

Farming for at least an hour around Elwynn Forest can be profitable for a miner. You could easily amass 200 copper ores in that time frame alone. I do suggest that you have to have a mount before farming around to cut down on your travel time.

Your 200 copper ores could translate into a minimum of 20goldfor you. For low levels, 20gold is a big amount already. The respawn rate for the mining nodes is fast enough and there seem to be little competition for copper ores in the area.

You will encounter occasional mobs that would attack you while mining a vein. Be sure to loot them as well. That would bring in additional gold for your bank. But when you’re goal is to mine for copper ores then you must not be distracted by the mobs.

But if you want to level your cooking skill and want to farm for linen cloth as well then kill everything you see. Although when you do so, you would be eating up the time for mining for copper ores. The good thing is that you’ll have linen cloth and food that you can sell on the Auction House as well. You have to look at it at all sides and find out if it is profitable to just mine or farm for other things as well.

The math is simple. You just have to farm for copper ores for at least an hour every day. In just a week you can get a minimum of 140gold. And that’s just an hour. What if you farm for 2 to 3 hours a day? Then your gold would surely be coming in faster. But then again, your profit will depend on the price of copper in the Auction House. If the price is too low then don’t sell your copper ores yet. Wait for a while for the market to improve and then sell your stock.

Farming for copper ores in the Elwynn Forest is a good way to build up your gold using a low level Alliance toon. With everyone switching to herbalism, this would be the right time to mine uncontested.

A friend with an Alliance toon shared this story with me. This is his fast way of farming for Wool with little effort and no thinking involved. You could farm for Wool inside instances such as Stockades or the Deadmines. But the problem with instance farming is that even at level 70, you have to be alert must of the time.

Instance farming involves pulling the entire instance and downing the mobs in two shots or more. This might be a fun and exciting way of farming but you need to concentrate while doing so. So what if the mobs in Stockade are only level 25 elites, with 50 or more on you, you might doubt your skills. Plus imagine the cost of your repairs after your farm run.

My friend gave his Wool farming secret that’s less stressful and more fun. His farming spot is the Mosshide Gnoll camps in the Wetlands. What’s nice about these Mosshide Gnolls is that their spawn rate is insane. It’s as if when one dies, another one replaces it. Therefore as a level 70, you would not be experiencing any down time at all. AoE farmers would surely enjoy these mobs.

Not only will you loot Wool from the Mosshides but they also drop the greens that could be sold in the Auction House. Or if you have an Enchanter friend then you can have these disenchanted and sell the mats. You might also be lucky enough to loot at least a single blue item.

At level 23, these mobs could be easily handled even by a pickle geared level 70. You could start farming this spot at level 60. A Paladin would not need to drink for health or mana. Normal regeneration for both is enough to sustain you all throughout your farming session.

Before going out on your farming expedition, be sure to clear your bags of any unnecessary items. It would be ideal if you have at least 50 slots free in your bags. With that much free space, it would not take long before you fill it up.

So if you’re looking for a stress free Wool farming spot then head to the Wetlands. There are a couple of Mosshide camps scattered around the area. But if you want to feed your adrenaline and want some adventure then head to the Stockades. These are your options if you need to farm for Wool on the Alliance side.

If you’re a level 50 Skinner and wanting to earn tons of WoW gold then you should try going to Stranglethorn Vale and grind on the Mistvale Gorillas. These mobs are great sources of Heavy Leather. Most of the mobs are found at (32,66) and their level ranges from 35 to 42. These gorillas would go down easily if a level 50 is hunting them down.

At level 50 you would not be getting any XP from these mobs but you will not be going here to level. Your objective is to farm for gold. This would be an easy task because the Mistvale Gorillas drop Heavy Leather at a rate of 85%. Not only that, you can skin the gorillas for Thick Leather as well.

An hour’s worth of farming could get you at least 120 Heavy Leathers, 30 Thick Leathers, a couple of green items, and gems as well. The Mistvale Gorillas would also drop vendor trash such as Gorilla Fangs and Coarse Gorilla Hairs. I also got around 20 Large Fangs that could be sold at the Auction House as well. All these could bring in lots of gold for you.

If you’re an Herbalist, you can farm for herbs in this area as well. There are a couple of herbs that spawn in this area as well. These days, herbs are best sellers because of the demand for Inscriptions. If you’re a Skinner and an Herbalist then this spot is just right for you.

The Mistvale Gorillas might not be dropping any gold or cloth but their leathers are worth the time spent farming these mobs. Heavy Leather is sold for 20silver each and Thick Leather for 30silver each. The bonus here is the Large Fangs which sells in the Auction House for 1 gold each. These are used by Blacksmiths to craft several armors. For my hour’s worth of farming, I got around 150gold in the process.

So if you’re looking for an easy way to make gold in the World of Warcraft then going to Stranglethorn Vale and grinding on the Mistvale Gorillas is the way to do it. Although in a PVP server, you must be cautious because STV is gank city. Try to schedule your farming during off-peak hours. In a PVE server you don’t need to worry about being killed by the other faction. Try this grind today.

This might not be a secret anymore because I’m seeing more and more farmers farming for Encrypted Twilight Text from the Twilight Cultists in Silithus. These mobs have such low health, at around 3,000 to 4,000, that they would easily be killed by a level 70. You have the advantage if you’re an AOE class.

The drop rate for Encrypted Twilight Text is around 20% to 25%. At that rate you could collect a lot in just an hour of farming. At my server a stack of 10 cold fetch 20gold from the Auction House, although this might vary in other servers.

The Twilight Cultists are heavily farmed since the Echoes of Doom patch. This is because a lot of people would want to earn the achievement Guardian of Cenarius. To get the title a player must be exalted in both Cenarion Circle and the Cenarion Expedition. A stack of 10 Encrypted Twilight Texts could be turned in for 500 Cenarion Circle rep.

The Encrypted Twilight Texts are not the only valuable items that the Twilight Cultists drop. They also could be looted for their Twilight Cultist set, which includes the Twilight Cultist Mantle, Twilight Cultist Cowl and the Twilight Cultist Robe. Each item of the set could be sold for 1 to 2gold.

Or you could use the items to summon a boss that would usually drop an Abyssal Crest plus a green item. A stack of these can give you 40gold. Now that’s a lot more gold for your bank.

The Twilight Cultists are also a good source for runecloth. While farming for Encrypted Twilight Texts, you’ll be also collecting tons of runecloths. A single runecloth could be worth around 15silver. Runecloths are in demand these days because a lot of players need it for rep.

You might also want to be on the lookout for a level 60 Elite spawn called Twilight Prophet. She would path around with two guards but at level 70 you could easily handle them. She usually drops 7 to 10 Encrypted Twilight Texts.

As you can see farming the Twilight Cultists would not be a waste of your time. You’ll be getting a lot of gold for your effort. Like always, be sure to empty your bags before going to your farming spot. Time equals gold and if you’ll be spending more time travelling and emptying your bags then you’re not maximizing your gold farming potential.

I came across this idea of farming Lower Blackrock Spire while talking with a Rogue friend of mine. He said that he makes around 200gold per hour. When teamed up with another Rogue, he makes half of that amount. Prerequisite for this grind is good blue gears. Be sure to carry greater fire protection pots because most of the mobs are fire based.

If you have the right gear, then you should proceed to the Lower Blackrock Spire and stealth your way to the right. After dropping of the first ledge, go to your left and through two doors. Once you get through the second door, stop. To the right you’ll see a ledge with the other side occupied by ogres. Move to the ledge and you’ll see that there’s a platform you can jump down on. Go to that platform then move forward where you can see another platform. Jump onto it as well. Lastly, you need to fall to the ground where you can see several tents. Remember that you must fall and not jump when going to the ground. Jumping would cause your stealth to break. Watch out for pats.

Then go towards the hill where you can find the spiders. To your right you will find the mobs that most groups would typically ignore in LBRS. There is a group of 3 in the left, a group of 3 to the right and a pair at the back. Although the groups of 3 are not linked, you’ll be agro the other if you pull one group because they are close to each other.

What you want to pull is the pair at the back. One of the mobs is Firebrand Pyromancer. This must be your target, so you must sap the other. Pull the Pyromancer from behind then pop Evasion when he’s in range. He is a runner so be sure to have Crippling Poison with you. As soon as the Pyromancer is dead, loot and vanish.

So you might be asking why farm a single mob? The Firebrand Pyromancer is the only mob in the World of Warcraft that drops Pattern: Robe of the Archmage. This epic pattern for Tailors could be sold for around 100gold. It makes the best raiding chest for mages up to Naxx.

If you’re not lucky enough to get the pattern, they drop other profitable items as well, including Recipe: Greater Fire Protection Potion. This Alchemy recipe can fetch around 40gold in the Auction House.

If you’re a Rogue then give this a try one of these days. Good luck!

This is the last for my series of Alliance gold making guides. By the time you reach 30, you’ll already have the gold needed to buy your mount. Again, I would be mentioning the items you might buy and sell in the Auction House for WoW gold. Keep in mind that the figures are based on my server alone and might not be the same in your server.

One such item is Recipe: Shadow Oil. For the Alliance, this recipe is available from Bliztik in Duskwood. He caters to both the Horde and Alliance. The recipe is priced at 15silver each. It is a limited stock item therefore only one will be available every hour. You can sell the Recipe: Shadow Oil in the Auction House for 3 to 4gold.

If you’re an alchemist, you can learn the recipe yourself and sell Shadow Oil. By itself, it can be applied to a melee weapon for a chance to inflict Shadow Bolt on your enemy. Then it could also be used for other crafted items, such as Greater Shadow Protection Potion, Wicked Moonstone Ring, Shadow Hood, Shadow Crescent Axe, and a lot more. Just like its recipe, the Shadow Oil could make you 3 to 4gold richer.

Another item worth considering would be the Schematic: Gnomish Cloaking Device. This schematic is dropped by Mekgineer Thermaplugg at Gnomeregan. If you’re like me that don’t enjoy grinding instance bosses, then you can go to the Alterac Mountains and look for Zan Shivsproket. He is a specialty engineer who sells the schematic among other things.

Not a lot of WoW players know where Zan Shivsproket is located. First you have to get to Ravenholdt Manor. Just go east of Tarren Mill until you find a narrow dirt path. Follow the path up the mountain and through a cave. Once you get through the cave you’ll find Ravenholdt Manor. Zan Shivsproket is a gnome found at the basement.

The Schematic: Gnomish Cloaking Device is sold at 24silver. I successfully sold it in the Auction House for 20gold at one time. But normally you can sell it for 10gold.

If you’ve practice the tips I gave for making gold, once you’ve reach level 30 you’ll already have enough gold to buy your mount and travel around the World of Warcraft much faster. Once you have the mount, making gold would be much easier than before. You can now go to your farming spots much quicker.

This is the second part of my Alliance gold making guide. You might have made a lot of gold by using the first part of my guide. Now you have to sustain that momentum by building on what you’ve started. Again this guide will tell you which items to look for your buy and sell empire.

One vendor to visit would be Wenna Silkbeard in the Wetlands. She is a special goods dealer who sells 3 limited stock patterns, 2 for Leatherworking and 1 for Tailoring. These are Pattern: Azure Silk Gloves, Pattern: Green Leather Armor, and Pattern: Red Whelp Gloves.

The Pattern: Azure Silk Gloves can be bought from Wenna Silkbeard for 10silver. Its resell value is around 2gold. If you’re with the Horde, this pattern is sold by Kireena in Desolace as well.

Pattern: Green Leather Armor is sold by Wenna Silkbeard for 20silver. It is also sold by the Horde vendor George Candarte at the Hillsbrad Foothills. I see this pattern at the Auction House selling for 3gold.

Among the three, the Pattern: Red Whelp Gloves is the most attractive for the Horde like me. For one, it is only available from Wenna Silkbeard. Second, she is with the Alliance. Therefore an Alliance player can buy it from Wenna Silkbeard for 16silver. You can place it in a Neutral Auction House and sell it for at least 4 to 5gold.

While you’re in the Wetlands, you might want to visit Fradd Swiftgear, an engineering supplies vendor. He sells two limited stock engineering schematics that you can sell in the Auction House.

One of the schematics that Fradd Swiftgear sells is the Schematic: Lovingly Crafted Boomstick. This schematic can be bought for only 10silver. This schematic is also available for both the Alliance and the Horde from Jinky Twizzlefixxit in Thousand Needles. The usual buyout price for it in the Auction House is 2gold.

Fradd Swiftgear also sells the Schematic: Minor Recombobulator for 15silver. It is also available from Namdo Bizzfizzle at Gnomeregan. At first, only Alliance vendors sell this schematic making it a rare recipe for a Horde engineer thus it was sold at around 15 to 20gold in the Neutral Auction House. Things chance with Patch 2.4, when Blizzard made it available for the Horde side as well. These days the schematic can still fetch 10gold.

These are just some items that you can use for your buy and sell business. More items to come on the third part of this series.

Why spend your hard earned money on gold right? Though my character is Horde, this guide is made through extensive research, mainly asking my friends and guild mates who rolled Alliance once in their WoW life.

So how can a player level 1 to 15 earn gold? It’s as simple as knowing what item to buy and sell in the Auction House. I’ve written before about this method of making WoW gold if you’re with the Horde. So what items should you buy if you’re on the Alliance side?

One is the Schematic: Blue Fireworks. You can get this engineering schematic either from Darian Singh at Stormwind City or Gearcutter Cogspinner at Ironforge. The schematic teaches an engineer how to make Blue Fireworks.

It is sold for 18silver by both vendors and you can sell it in the Auction House for as high as 2gold. The schematic is available only from Alliance vendors therefore it is especially popular with the Horde Engineers who would want to make Blue Fireworks. Red Firework schematics are available only from Horde vendors while the goblins sell the green fireworks schematics.

If you like a more profitable return of investment then you should choose to engage in the buy and sell of Recipe: Free Action Potion. It is available in limited stock from 2 Alliance vendors, Soolie Berryfizz at Ironforge and Ulthir at Darnassus. If you have a Horde toon then you can buy it from Kor’geld at Orgrimmar as well.

Just like the Schematic: Blue Fireworks, the Recipe: Free Action Potion is sold for 18silver each from the vendor. It is limited therefore there might be times that someone has bought it before you and it’s not available from the vendor. You can wait for it to respawn within the next hour.

Last time I’ve checked the Auction House, I found one selling for at least 5gold. I usually sell it for 4gold. It’s something wise not to be too greedy.

As you can see, making WoW gold is easy even if you’re Alliance and low level at that. The recipes mentioned above are limited stock therefore you might need to camp it with your character in order to buy one. A limited stock item usually restocks in an hour or so.

If you’re a Level 60 Mage, you can start saving for your epic flying mount by following this guide. Your Mage can either be Frost spec with Ice Barrier and Improved Arcane Explosion; or Fire spec with Combustion and Blast Wave.

If your Mage has the qualities mentioned above then head to the Scarlet Monastery Graveyard. Kill all the mobs in the hallway and room. If you feel that you’re in danger, pop Mana Shield. For the groups of four, the fight would depend on your spec.

For Fire Spec:

Enable Combustion > Blast Wave > Arcane Explosion (until the mobs are around 15% health) > Frost Nova (then fall back) > Flame Strike > Cone of Cold.

For Frost Spec:

Ice Barrier > Arcane Explosion (until the mobs are around 15% health) > Frost Nova (then fall back) > Blizzard > Cone of Cold.

Now that you’ve cleared the room, go to the next hallway. Once you’ve reached the Graveyard, stop for a while. This would be the spot where you’ll be earning your WoW gold. Be sure to have full mana and health because you’ll be pulling lots of Forsaken Spirit once you start. Again the fight would be dependent on your spec.

For Fire Spec:

Mana Shield > Combustion

Then run around the Graveyard and pull around 25 Forsaken Spirits. Avoid pulling the Elites. Stop the pull when your health is around 50%. Drink mana potion if needed and then,

Blast Wave > Frost Nova

Fall back so that the Forsaken Spirits can’t reach you before they die.

For Frost Spec:

Pop Ice Barrier and then pull around 25 Forsaken Spirits while avoiding the Elites. Once the Ice Barrier is wearing off, you might want to cast Mana Shield. Once your health drops to 50%, stop pulling. Drink Mana potion if needed and then, use Arcane Explosion until the mobs are dead. It would usually take around 4 Arcane Explosions to kill the Forsaken Spirits.

Now all you need to do is to loot the dead mobs. You’ll be getting around 7 to 11gold and green items as well that you can sell at the Auction House. You might want to go clear the building and kill the boss at the end. Then you go and reset the instance. If you still have slot in your bags then you can go straight back to the instance. Otherwise, you can go back to the Graveyard at once.
