Clam Equals Gold in Borean Tundra

The Winterfin area in the Borean Tundra is a fun area. There’s a quest that lets you don a Murloc suit and jump around unsuspecting enemies. But that’s not the only thing fun to do in this area. If your idea of fun is to grind for gold then this area is for you.

Gone are the days of farming for Jaggal Clam Meat. Leave that in the Burning Crusade. In Wrath of the Lich King, it’s time to farm for another type of clam meat. This time around you can grind for Succulent Clam Meat.

Succulent Clam Meat is used to make Dalaran Clam Powder, which is the best Northend recipe for Enhancement Shamans and Ret Paladins. But everyone can benefit from its Attack Power and Stamina bonus.

And the probably the best grinding spot for Succulent Clam Meat is located in the low level region of Borean Tundra. There’s a cave in the northern regions where you can find Winterfin Murlocs. They would occasional drop Brooding Darkwater Clam that contains the desired clam meat. Not only that, Brooding Darkwater Clams can also be found around the area. Succulent Clam Meat goes from 1 to 4gold each.

The Brooding Darkwater Clams would not only contain Succulent Clam Meat but there are times that you can find Northsea Pearl and Siren’s Tear. You’ll be lucky to loot these gems. A single Northsea Pearl can be sold in the Auction House for around 10gold each. You’ll be most lucky if you find a Siren’s Tear inside your clam. This remarkable gem can sell for as high as 300gold each. I even saw one going for 500gold.

Also, the Winterfin Murlocs would drop Winterfin Clams. You can’t open these clams but they could be used to trade for items with Ahlurglgr. This vendor only accepts Winterfin Clams as payment. Available from him are Northsea Pearls and Siren’s Tears but in a limited quantity only. For 30 Winterfin Clams you can get a Northsea Pearl and for 100 Winterfin Clams you can get a Siren’s Tear. Some say that the Siren’s Tear replenishes after 2 to 3 hours. This might be worth farming for.

As you can see, clam farming has become a profitable exercise in Wrath of the Lich King. This is just one of the ways you can earn WoW gold in the WoTLK expansion.
