This might not be a secret anymore because I’m seeing more and more farmers farming for Encrypted Twilight Text from the Twilight Cultists in Silithus. These mobs have such low health, at around 3,000 to 4,000, that they would easily be killed by a level 70. You have the advantage if you’re an AOE class.
The drop rate for Encrypted Twilight Text is around 20% to 25%. At that rate you could collect a lot in just an hour of farming. At my server a stack of 10 cold fetch 20gold from the Auction House, although this might vary in other servers.
The Twilight Cultists are heavily farmed since the Echoes of Doom patch. This is because a lot of people would want to earn the achievement Guardian of Cenarius. To get the title a player must be exalted in both Cenarion Circle and the Cenarion Expedition. A stack of 10 Encrypted Twilight Texts could be turned in for 500 Cenarion Circle rep.
The Encrypted Twilight Texts are not the only valuable items that the Twilight Cultists drop. They also could be looted for their Twilight Cultist set, which includes the Twilight Cultist Mantle, Twilight Cultist Cowl and the Twilight Cultist Robe. Each item of the set could be sold for 1 to 2gold.
Or you could use the items to summon a boss that would usually drop an Abyssal Crest plus a green item. A stack of these can give you 40gold. Now that’s a lot more gold for your bank.
The Twilight Cultists are also a good source for runecloth. While farming for Encrypted Twilight Texts, you’ll be also collecting tons of runecloths. A single runecloth could be worth around 15silver. Runecloths are in demand these days because a lot of players need it for rep.
You might also want to be on the lookout for a level 60 Elite spawn called Twilight Prophet. She would path around with two guards but at level 70 you could easily handle them. She usually drops 7 to 10 Encrypted Twilight Texts.
As you can see farming the Twilight Cultists would not be a waste of your time. You’ll be getting a lot of gold for your effort. Like always, be sure to empty your bags before going to your farming spot. Time equals gold and if you’ll be spending more time travelling and emptying your bags then you’re not maximizing your gold farming potential.
