Farming Herod

If you are an Enchanter, then you can do this grind once or twice a day. You must also be at least level 60 for this grind, although a level 50 Rogue would probably be able to run through this. Herod is the Boss of Scarlet Armory therefore you need to have the Scarlet Key as well.

If you don’t have the Scarlet Key yet, at level 60 you can easily get it by yourself. You can get it after killing Arcanist Doan in the Scarlet Cathedral. It could be found in the chest at the back of the room. A bonus is that you’ll get the Achievement for the Scarlet Monastery after downing Arcanist Doan.

What you must do is to run towards Herod. At level 60, you would not have a hard time to solo the mobs in the armory. Rogues could stealth his way towards Herod. Once you reach Herod’s chamber, kill and loot him. The loot would then be disenchanted for a Small Radiant Shard. A single Large Radiant Shard is worth 10gold in the Auction House or maybe more. It would depend on the demand for it in your server.

At level 60, Herod would be a piece of cake for you. Even a Level 50 Rogue can handle the level 37 Scarlet Champion. He is a warrior that has a Whirlwind Attack. He would enrage when his health reaches 50%. The Whirlwind attack could be easily avoided. Just go outside of the melee range and you’ll be safe.

If you never done Herod before, don’t be surprised when a bunch of Scarlet Trainees barge into the room when Herod dies. These are Level 30 non-elites that you can easily DPS down with one blow because of their 100 to 150 HP. They are good sources of silk cloths.

If you do 5 runs a day, that means you get 50gold. Because you can only reset an instance for 5times in an hour, you could repeat this run before you log out. That would double your gold output to 100gold. In a week you’ll have at least 700gold. This could augment your savings for that epic flying mount.

That’s just on the Large Radiant Shard. I haven’t tackled yet the cloth you could collect in the Armory. Sell those in the Auction House and you’ll be making more than 100gold per day. It’s that simple.

All stuff from Herod disenchants into a Small Radiant Shard yet you keep mentioning Large Radiant Shards and the price for them.
