Rogue Lower Blackrock Spire Farming Strategies

I came across this idea of farming Lower Blackrock Spire while talking with a Rogue friend of mine. He said that he makes around 200gold per hour. When teamed up with another Rogue, he makes half of that amount. Prerequisite for this grind is good blue gears. Be sure to carry greater fire protection pots because most of the mobs are fire based.

If you have the right gear, then you should proceed to the Lower Blackrock Spire and stealth your way to the right. After dropping of the first ledge, go to your left and through two doors. Once you get through the second door, stop. To the right you’ll see a ledge with the other side occupied by ogres. Move to the ledge and you’ll see that there’s a platform you can jump down on. Go to that platform then move forward where you can see another platform. Jump onto it as well. Lastly, you need to fall to the ground where you can see several tents. Remember that you must fall and not jump when going to the ground. Jumping would cause your stealth to break. Watch out for pats.

Then go towards the hill where you can find the spiders. To your right you will find the mobs that most groups would typically ignore in LBRS. There is a group of 3 in the left, a group of 3 to the right and a pair at the back. Although the groups of 3 are not linked, you’ll be agro the other if you pull one group because they are close to each other.

What you want to pull is the pair at the back. One of the mobs is Firebrand Pyromancer. This must be your target, so you must sap the other. Pull the Pyromancer from behind then pop Evasion when he’s in range. He is a runner so be sure to have Crippling Poison with you. As soon as the Pyromancer is dead, loot and vanish.

So you might be asking why farm a single mob? The Firebrand Pyromancer is the only mob in the World of Warcraft that drops Pattern: Robe of the Archmage. This epic pattern for Tailors could be sold for around 100gold. It makes the best raiding chest for mages up to Naxx.

If you’re not lucky enough to get the pattern, they drop other profitable items as well, including Recipe: Greater Fire Protection Potion. This Alchemy recipe can fetch around 40gold in the Auction House.

If you’re a Rogue then give this a try one of these days. Good luck!
