Alliance Gold Making Tips Part 1 (Levels 1-15)

Posted by Nance on 01 Nov 08 - 1 Comment - Archived in the category: Low Level

This is the first of a series of posts that would help those with the Alliance make WoW gold the easy and legal way. Why spend your hard earned money on gold right? Though my character is Horde, this guide is made through extensive research, mainly asking my friends and guild mates who rolled Alliance once in their WoW life.

So how can a player level 1 to 15 earn gold? It’s as simple as knowing what item to buy and sell in the Auction House. I’ve written before about this method of making WoW gold if you’re with the Horde. So what items should you buy if you’re on the Alliance side?

One is the Schematic: Blue Fireworks. You can get this engineering schematic either from Darian Singh at Stormwind City or Gearcutter Cogspinner at Ironforge. The schematic teaches an engineer how to make Blue Fireworks.

It is sold for 18silver by both vendors and you can sell it in the Auction House for as high as 2gold. The schematic is available only from Alliance vendors therefore it is especially popular with the Horde Engineers who would want to make Blue Fireworks. Red Firework schematics are available only from Horde vendors while the goblins sell the green fireworks schematics.

If you like a more profitable return of investment then you should choose to engage in the buy and sell of Recipe: Free Action Potion. It is available in limited stock from 2 Alliance vendors, Soolie Berryfizz at Ironforge and Ulthir at Darnassus. If you have a Horde toon then you can buy it from Kor’geld at Orgrimmar as well.

Just like the Schematic: Blue Fireworks, the Recipe: Free Action Potion is sold for 18silver each from the vendor. It is limited therefore there might be times that someone has bought it before you and it’s not available from the vendor. You can wait for it to respawn within the next hour.

Last time I’ve checked the Auction House, I found one selling for at least 5gold. I usually sell it for 4gold. It’s something wise not to be too greedy.

As you can see, making WoW gold is easy even if you’re Alliance and low level at that. The recipes mentioned above are limited stock therefore you might need to camp it with your character in order to buy one. A limited stock item usually restocks in an hour or so.

Scarlet Monastery Graveyard Farming with your Level 60 Mage

Posted by Nance on 30 Oct 08 - 0 Comments - Archived in the category: Money Making Ways

If you’re a Level 60 Mage, you can start saving for your epic flying mount by following this guide. Your Mage can either be Frost spec with Ice Barrier and Improved Arcane Explosion; or Fire spec with Combustion and Blast Wave.

If your Mage has the qualities mentioned above then head to the Scarlet Monastery Graveyard. Kill all the mobs in the hallway and room. If you feel that you’re in danger, pop Mana Shield. For the groups of four, the fight would depend on your spec.

For Fire Spec:

Enable Combustion > Blast Wave > Arcane Explosion (until the mobs are around 15% health) > Frost Nova (then fall back) > Flame Strike > Cone of Cold.

For Frost Spec:

Ice Barrier > Arcane Explosion (until the mobs are around 15% health) > Frost Nova (then fall back) > Blizzard > Cone of Cold.

Now that you’ve cleared the room, go to the next hallway. Once you’ve reached the Graveyard, stop for a while. This would be the spot where you’ll be earning your WoW gold. Be sure to have full mana and health because you’ll be pulling lots of Forsaken Spirit once you start. Again the fight would be dependent on your spec.

For Fire Spec:

Mana Shield > Combustion

Then run around the Graveyard and pull around 25 Forsaken Spirits. Avoid pulling the Elites. Stop the pull when your health is around 50%. Drink mana potion if needed and then,

Blast Wave > Frost Nova

Fall back so that the Forsaken Spirits can’t reach you before they die.

For Frost Spec:

Pop Ice Barrier and then pull around 25 Forsaken Spirits while avoiding the Elites. Once the Ice Barrier is wearing off, you might want to cast Mana Shield. Once your health drops to 50%, stop pulling. Drink Mana potion if needed and then, use Arcane Explosion until the mobs are dead. It would usually take around 4 Arcane Explosions to kill the Forsaken Spirits.

Now all you need to do is to loot the dead mobs. You’ll be getting around 7 to 11gold and green items as well that you can sell at the Auction House. You might want to go clear the building and kill the boss at the end. Then you go and reset the instance. If you still have slot in your bags then you can go straight back to the instance. Otherwise, you can go back to the Graveyard at once.

Efficient Crafting Profession Leveling Guide

Posted by Nance on 28 Oct 08 - 0 Comments - Archived in the category: Money Making Ways, Professions

The best way to build up your crafting profession is to wait until you’ve reached level 30. At lower levels you might reach a point in which you need a certain item that is way beyond your strength. Yes, you might be able to gather mats while questing and reach up to around 110 of your crafting profession only to observe that you can’t get pass that because you don’t have the required mats.

Plus you can’t be an Artisan in a profession until you reach level 35. Plus you need to save your gold for the mount. It is essential that you must first get a mount and then level your crafting profession. Before level 40, you should spend your time on grinding for gold and leveling through questing.

Once you reach level 5, you can already choose to learn 2 professions. You should train in two gathering professions. You can choose skinning/mining or skinning/herbalism. You can’t be an herbalist/miner because you can’t use two trackers at the same time.

Then you have to decide on a crafting skill you would take in the future so that you can save the mats you might need for that profession. If you choose to be a skinner/miner then wishes to be a leatherworker in the future then you can sell the ores in the Auction House while keeping all the leathers you can gather.

By the time you reach level 30, you would have enough gold for the mount and class skills. This would be the right time to drop one gathering skill and train a crafting profession. Then head to your bank and start power leveling your chosen skill.

Depending on the number of mats you might have gathered, you’ll be going from Apprentice to Artisan quickly. You might hit a snag at 225 skill points because you lack the materials but at your current level you’ll be able to secure the mats easily. Or if you made a killing selling items you gathered then you can farm the Auction House for your requirements.

If you choose to be an Enchanter, then choose Herbalism as your other profession. That way it will serve as an additional income generator. Sell the herbs you gather. These are profitable at present because of Inscription profession.

If you want to be a Tailor, you must not be tempted to train for it right away. Keep in mind that cloths sell. There is demand for it. You could make a couple of gold from the cloths first and when you reach level 30 then you can train your Tailoring.

Earn More Honor through Daily PVP Quest

Posted by Nance on 26 Oct 08 - 1 Comment - Archived in the category: PvP, Quests

in the World of Warcraft is to get some PVP gear. To achieve this, you must farm for honor. As long as you’re going to spend some time in the battlegrounds, you might as well earn some extra honor, 419 honor points to be exact.

Quest givers for the Daily PVP Quest could be found near your faction’s Battleground Masters. In a nutshell, the objective of the Daily PVP Quest is to win a random battleground and that’s it. No added requirements to fulfill. Just win the BG and collect the rewards.

Aside from the bonus honor you’ll receive, the Daily PVP Quest would also reward you with almost 12gold. Isn’t it great to earn honor and gold while doing what you love to do? PVP is made even better with the introduction of the Daily PVP Quests.

There will be only one Daily PVP Quest available per day and it will be randomly selected from the following: Call to Arms: Eye of the Storm; Call to Arms: Alterac Valley; Call to Arms: Arathi Basin; and Call to Arms: Warsong Glutch. Daily PVP Quests differ from server to server.

Each of the four Battlegrounds has the same chance to be picked as the daily BG. But because it is randomly chosen from the list, there might come a time that Arathi Basin is the daily PVP for two or three days straight. That would be beneficial for me when that happens because Arathi Basin is my favorite BG among others.

On the other hand, I might be expecting AB to be the daily BG, only to find out that it is Warsong Glutch. I had experience an AB Daily PVP Quest drought last week. Well, maybe it’s Blizzard’s way of saying that I should try the other BGs.

But no matter what the Daily PVP Quest might be, I’ll do it anyway. I do give up and drop a quest once in a while after a couple of tries, especially if it’s Alterac Valley. I don’t know why the Horde keeps on losing AV in my server.

If you’re farming for honor then doing the Daily PVP Quest would be a good way to pick up some extra honor while at the same time earn some gold for your gears’ repair bill. Even if you’re just doing Battlegrounds for fun, earning bonus honor would be rewarding for the time spent in the BG.
