Spider’s Silk

You might be wondering how the hell a
white item dropped by level 16 to 36 monsters can sell for at least
1gold each. That’s the status Spider’s Silk. We all know that any
spider silk type can be sold easily in the Auction House but the
lowest kind is hard to farm. This is always in demand in the Auction
House because of their relatively low supply. This is because most
low level players mistake them for vendor trash. What they don’t
know is that Spider’s Silk is an essential material for some
crafted Twink items.

If you’re planning to farm for
Spider’s Silk, the best place to go is the Arathi Highlands. There
you will find Giant Plains Creeper. They have a 10% chance to drop
the coveted Spider’s Silk. Not only that, they also drop Thick
Spider’s Silk, Large Fangs, Crunchy Spider Legs, green items and
vendor trash. That would bring around ten to thirty gold per hour.

What makes Spider’s Silk valuable?
Well, they are used to make 2 rare items, Spidersilk Boots and the
Toughened Leather Gloves. A Leatherworker can actually make lots of
gold making and selling Toughened Leather Gloves. Based on the 2
patterns, it would be best to sell your Spider’s Silk in stacks of
two.

It is also needed to make Robes of
Arcana. This robe is needed for a Warlock quest. If you’re a
Tailor, you could pick up at least 15gold for one. That’s easy WOW
gold for you. The downside for this is that it is not something that
would sell all the time.

You must also search the Auction House
from time to time for this item. Most players would sell it for less
than 1gold. You could be the Spider’s Silk tycoon of your server by
monopolizing the market. Once you’ve done that, you could dictate
the price of Spider’s Silk to your favor.

The price of the silk remains stable
even when Wrath of the Lich King expansion arrived. This is because
even if the demand is not that high, there are no Spider’s Silk
farmers in my server. The few in the Auction House were placed by
casual players who picked it up while questing.

What is trash for someone is an
opportunity for you. This is just one item that you can make lots of
WOW gold on. There are a couple others undiscovered by other players.
Find out the one that you could specialize on and capitalize on it.

Fishing for Gold

Posted by Nance on 14 Mar 09 - 0 Comments - Archived in the category: Professions

Probably one of the most disregarded yet profitable secondary professions in the World of Warcraft is fishing. Most WoW players think of it as a waste of time. All you do is to cast your bobber into a body of water and wait for it to bob. Most players don’t have the patience for it. If only they know that WoW gold is what they can catch with their hook and line. Don’t laugh at someone fishing the day away. He might have more gold than all of your characters combined.

The first thing you need to do is to look for a Fishing Trainer to get the Fishing Skill and buy a fishing pole. Don’t settle for the normal one. The bigger fishing skill you have, the better your chances of landing a catch. There are fishing poles that add points to ones fishing. It would lessen the chance of the fish to get away. You could also use lures or hooks to add to your fishing skill.

You might be wondering what would have after hours of fishing? Well, fish of course. But not only that, there are instances where you’ll fish out other items such as foot lockers that contain items you could vend in the auction house. These are rare and therefore the items tend to be worth something in the Auction House.

The fish could be eaten raw or you can cook it to give additional buffs. When cooked, the amount of health gained by eating it is far higher than the raw one. You’ll be leveling two skills in the process as well. Your fishing and cooking will level up at the same time. Now that’s good use of your time in the World of Warcraft.

If you’re a Hunter, you can feed the extra fish to your pet. If you’re not then you can convert the extra fish into gold by selling it in the Auction House. Food is always in demand and would definitely rake in a couple of gold for you.

Leveling up your fishing skill is easy. You just need a body of water and your fishing pole. But to make gold from your fishing, you must go to the higher level areas. The fish that would be caught there are more valuable than from the low level areas. Alchemists need some fish for their potions. So don’t throw anything you catch.

Clam Equals Gold in Borean Tundra

Posted by Nance on 10 Mar 09 - 0 Comments - Archived in the category: Grinding Spots

The Winterfin area in the Borean Tundra is a fun area. There’s a quest that lets you don a Murloc suit and jump around unsuspecting enemies. But that’s not the only thing fun to do in this area. If your idea of fun is to grind for gold then this area is for you.

Gone are the days of farming for Jaggal Clam Meat. Leave that in the Burning Crusade. In Wrath of the Lich King, it’s time to farm for another type of clam meat. This time around you can grind for Succulent Clam Meat.

Succulent Clam Meat is used to make Dalaran Clam Powder, which is the best Northend recipe for Enhancement Shamans and Ret Paladins. But everyone can benefit from its Attack Power and Stamina bonus.

And the probably the best grinding spot for Succulent Clam Meat is located in the low level region of Borean Tundra. There’s a cave in the northern regions where you can find Winterfin Murlocs. They would occasional drop Brooding Darkwater Clam that contains the desired clam meat. Not only that, Brooding Darkwater Clams can also be found around the area. Succulent Clam Meat goes from 1 to 4gold each.

The Brooding Darkwater Clams would not only contain Succulent Clam Meat but there are times that you can find Northsea Pearl and Siren’s Tear. You’ll be lucky to loot these gems. A single Northsea Pearl can be sold in the Auction House for around 10gold each. You’ll be most lucky if you find a Siren’s Tear inside your clam. This remarkable gem can sell for as high as 300gold each. I even saw one going for 500gold.

Also, the Winterfin Murlocs would drop Winterfin Clams. You can’t open these clams but they could be used to trade for items with Ahlurglgr. This vendor only accepts Winterfin Clams as payment. Available from him are Northsea Pearls and Siren’s Tears but in a limited quantity only. For 30 Winterfin Clams you can get a Northsea Pearl and for 100 Winterfin Clams you can get a Siren’s Tear. Some say that the Siren’s Tear replenishes after 2 to 3 hours. This might be worth farming for.

As you can see, clam farming has become a profitable exercise in Wrath of the Lich King. This is just one of the ways you can earn WoW gold in the WoTLK expansion.
