Primal Farming Part 2

Posted by Nance on 11 Dec 08 - 0 Comments - Archived in the category: Grinding Spots

The first part of this series tackled the farming spots for Primal Earth, Wind, and Fire. This time around I’m going to tackle the farming spots for Primal Air, Mana, Shadow and Life. Just like the first three Primals, these four are in demand even when WoTLK has arrived.

First on the list is the Primal Air. There’s only one place in the World of Warcraft that you could farm for these. Because of that this spot is heavily farmed. Good thing that the spawn rate for the Air Elementals is fast. The spot is located in Southeastern Shadowmoon Valley. Because of the competition, you would probably get 2 to 3 Primal Airs in an hour.

To farm for Primal Manas, be sure to get the daily quest Maintaining the Sunwell Portal. Then go to the Bash’ir Landing where you’ll be doing both the daily quest and the farming for Primal Mana at the same time. To o this, you must first kill the Ethereals until they drop the Bash’ir Phasing Device. Then use this to go into phase. Once in this state, you be able to see the Phase Wyrms. These drop Motes of Mana at a decent rate. An average of 5 Primal Manas could be acquired in an hour.

If you need to farm for Primal Shadows, the best spot to grind for these would be the area around Oshu’Gun in Nagrand. They have a bad drop rate but this is the only area where a large concentration of Voidspawns is located. Extreme patience is needed with this grind. You’ll be lucky to collect at least 3 Primal Shadows in one hour.

Lastly we have the Primal Life. These might be the easiest Primal to collect in the World of Warcraft, especially if you’re an herbalist. Fly around the Outlands collecting herbs and expect to gather a couple of Primal Life along the way. Don’t fret if you are not an herbalist. Zangarmarsh is the place to farm for Primal Life. You can either go to the Northeast area of Dead Mire, the Southern region where Funggor Cavern is located, or in the Southwestern region near Quagg Ridge. The three zones more or less have the same drop rate for the Motes of Life and you could probably harvest a minimum of 4 Primal Lifes in one hour.

As you can see, farming for Primals gives you a lot to choose from. If a farming spot is crowded, you have plenty more options to choose from.

Primal Farming Part 1

These days everyone is busy with WoTLK. But still one of the best sellers in the Auction House is the Primals. Any Elemental Primal is priced high in the AH and this is a great way to rack up a couple of WoW gold.

Each Primal has its own farming spot. Most Primal farmers want to keep this a secret but I am here to guide you on the best spots to farm for these. For this first part I’ll be discussing the spots for Primal Earth, Water and Fire.

Let’s start off with the Primal Earth, which is probably the easiest Primal to farm if you’re a miner. If you’re not a miner then go to the Southwestern part of Nagrand and grind on the Earth Elementals found there. Their name is Shattered Rumblers and their level ranges from 66 to 67. Their drop rate for Mote of Earth is around 20% therefore you should be able to collect around 3 to 4 Primal Earths in an hour.

If you’re looking for Primal Fire then go to the Throne of Kil’jaedan located at Northeastern area of the Hellfire Peninsula. Here you can find lots of fire elementals that would drop Motes of Fire. What’s nice about this spot is that the mobs spawn when their numbers are low. The downside is that this is a heavily farmed area and a daily quest spot. You should farm here during off peak.

For Primal Water you have two choices. The first choice would be grinding the Shimmerscale Eels at the Slimyr Lake in the Terokkar Forest. They have a decent drop rate for Motes of Water but the downside is that the farming would be done underwater. To fully maximize your farming potential, you must have underwater breathing potions with you. If you have 380 Fishing Skill then you can opt to fish for the motes around Nagrand. This would be a bit tedious because you need to fly around Nagrand and look for Pure Water nodes. This option should only be taken if there’s a crowd in the Slimyr Lake.

Primal farming in the Outlands is a profitable way of earning easy gold in the World of Warcraft. Next time I’ll be discussing the farming spots for Primal Air, Mana, Shadow, and Life. That way you’ll have lots of alternative in making WoW gold. This way if a certain spot is crowded you’ll have other options to choose from.

5 Fishing Achievements in One Day

Fishing in the World of Warcraft can be frustrating, especially if you’re looking for a specific fish to catch. But did you know that you can actually do 5 Fishing Achievement in a single day and at the same time level your fishing skill in the process.

The five Fishing Achievements are:

25 Fish – You have to catch 25 different types of fishes.

The Old Gnome and the Sea – All you have to do is catch a fish from a school.

The Scavenger – You have to catch a fish from the different Wreckage schools. You need to have at least 305 fishing skill to accomplish this one. If by chance your fishing skill is low then you can go for 50 Fish. To earn this achievement, you have to travel around Azeroth. The five Wreckage Schools are:

1. Waterlogged Wreckage Pool

Found in Alterac Mountains, Desolace, Dustwallow Marsh, Stranglethorn Vale and Arathi Highlands.

2. Schooner Wreckage

Found in Ashenvale, Stonetalon Mountains, Hillbrads, and Wetlands.

3. Bloodsail Wreckage

Found south of Grom’gol at the coast of Stranglethorn.

4. Floating Wreckage

Found in Tanaris, Feralas and Azshara.

5. Steam Pump Flotsam

This is where a fishing skill of 305 is required. This is found anywhere in Eastern Zangarmarsh.

Outland Angler – You have to catch various fishes in the different pools found in the Outland. You need to have a flying mount to accomplish this one. You need to fish in Terokkar, Nagrand and Zangarmarsh. Start fishing for Brackish Mixed Schools and Schools of Darters in Terokkar Forest. Then go on your flying mount and go to the lakes above Allerian, Stonebreaker or in the middle of Skettis for the Highland Mixed School. When you’re done with that, head to Nagrand where you can fish for Mudfish and Bluefish schools. Last stop would be Zangarmarsh for the Sporefish schools.

The Fishing Diplomat – This is probably the most difficult one to achieve. You have to catch a fish in both Orgrimmar and Stormwind. If you’re Alliance, you have to enter Orgrimmar from the Western gate going to the Valley of Spirits. Once you’re in the Valley, go to the shallow pool and start fishing. Try to hide under the building in that area. If you’re Horde, jump into the water around Stormwind. There’s a sheltered embankment where you can fish undetected.

Earning the achievements is not only fun but the fish you catch could be sold in the Auction House as well.

Primal Water Farming

Primal Water is always in demand anytime of the year. It is used for a lot of crafted epic items. On the Auction House, it is sold for 20gold each. This is a farming opportunity that’s just waiting for you to grab it. There are a lot of spots in which you can farm for Motes of Water but the best spot to farm in would be the Slimyr Lake North of Cenarion Thicket in the Terokkar Forest.

Shimmerscale Eels live in this lake. They range from level 62 to 63. Although they usually drop vendor trash, they do have a decent drop rate for Motes of Water. The drop rate is around 20%. Combine ten motes of water and you’ll get one Primal Water.

What’s good about the Shimmerscale Eels is that they have low hit point, around 3,000 to 3,300. No matter what class you might be, these eels would go down fast. To be able to maximize your farming it would be best to drink underwater breathing potions. That way you would not be spending anytime going up to breath.

In an hour of farming, I managed to acquire a total of 50 Motes of Water. That translates into 5 Primal Water. I sold it for 20gold each and in less than an hour of placing it in the Auction House, it sold out. That’s 100gold for my bank from the grind. Not bad for one hour’s worth of work.

There are a lot of advantages of farming the Shimmerscale Eels for Primal Water. The locale in which you’ll do the grind is close to Shattrath City. The eels die fast and they have a fast respawn rate. The drop rate for Motes of Water is good as well. Although the eels don’t drop any silver, their vendor trash makes up for it.

Underwater farming could be a hassle without any underwater breathing potions. That’s one thing you need to have before going to the farm site. Another disadvantage is that this site is popular therefore it could be heavily farmed. You could check the area first. If there is already a player farming the area, it could still be bearable to farm there. But if there are already 2 or more then go to another area already because it would not be worth it anymore.

Primal Water is a good source of WoW gold. You just have to know where to farm for it.
