Warlocks might get mad at me for saying this but for me, the mage has the best AoE in the World of Warcraft. No matter what the spec s, fire or ice, mages could give out a lot of area damage. Though for this guide, ice mages will be more effective than fire mages. With this guide, you’ll be able to farm at least 100 Sunfury Signets and around 3 to 5 Arcane Tomes. That’s at least an additional 200 gold in your bank. Not only that, more likely than not, you’ll be looting green and blue items as well.
You don’t need to have epic gears for this farming method although you must have at least 400 frost damage bonus. Your ice mage must also have the appropriate skills such as ice barrier, ice floes, water elemental and cold snap. It would also be a plus if your mage has ice shards, permafrost, icy veins, piercing ice, arctic winds, improved cone of cold, improved water elemental, deep freeze and fingers of frost.
The minimum level for this AoE farming would be 67 but level 68 would be more efficient. This way, you’ll not only be farming for gold but you’ll be getting good experience as well. If you’re with Scryers then you’ll be building up your reputation with them. If you’re with Aldors then you can use the gold to buy Aldor marks.
The farming spot for this guide would be Manaforge B’naar in Netherstorm. There you will find a Sunfury encampment. The mobs in this camp would go down easily. Once you’ve reach the spot, buff yourself with an ice barrier and then mount up. Go up and pull 5 mobs to a safe and isolated spot. If you’re already at a safe spot, cast frost nova, blink away from the mobs, summon your water elemental and cast blizzard. If they get close to you and your frost nova is still in cool down, use your elementals to fend them off. Once frost nova is up, freeze them up again and bombard them with blizzard, arcane explosion or cone of cold.
That’s just for starters. Once you have enough practice, you can then pull at least 20 mobs at the same time. It could be repetitive and boring over time but this is the best way to farm using AoE. This method is used by hardcore WoW gold
