Dire Maul West Solo Farming

Instance soloing is always fun. This is what I do if I got nothing better to do. If you’re lucky, you could net at least a couple of gold in a day. Today we’re going in Dire Maul West and going to kill all the mobs in the first room. It would be best if you’re a ranged class with a decent mana pool. Mages, priests and warlocks would be ideal for this grind. Just be sure that you have decent DOT for this grind.

The farming spot would be the ramp going towards Tendris Warpwood. You can find a ledge on each side of the ramp. The target mobs would be the trees and the blue casters. The patrolling big trees can punt you back so be careful not to be knocked back towards the edge or worst fall down the bottom.

What you need to do is to pull a group back to the top of the ramp. Then you must jump onto a ledge of either side of the ramp. The mobs would then run back to the bottom of the ramp and go up the ledge. You must then hop to the middle again. They would be going up to you and when they get near, jump to the other ledge. Once on the other ledge, start casting. Keep doing this until all the mobs are dead.

The group of trees would have a healer. Don’t focus on it first. Attack another tree and let the healer heal him. After the first heal, switch to the healer. Burst on him until he is dead. Then switch back on your previous target. DOTs would play a large part in this grind. Be sure to equip for damage to help you with this grind.

This grind would need lots of patience and concentration but the result is rewarding. Each mob would drop decent silver, green and gray items. But you’ll hit the jackpot if the mobs drop the Libram of Focus. Prices vary from server to server but it in mine it is worth around 5 to 15 gold in the Auction House.

You can clear the room in about 30 to 45 minutes. Then you can go out and reset the instance then go back in. Practice does make perfect and after a couple of runs, you can cut back on the total time spent clearing the room.
