For Alliance low level Miners, Elwynn Forest is their favorite place. The mobs around the region might not drop wondrous items that could be worth a lot in the Auction House, the place is full of copper veins and herbs that could be worth your time going around it.
Farming for at least an hour around Elwynn Forest can be profitable for a miner. You could easily amass 200 copper ores in that time frame alone. I do suggest that you have to have a mount before farming around to cut down on your travel time.
Your 200 copper ores could translate into a minimum of 20goldfor you. For low levels, 20gold is a big amount already. The respawn rate for the mining nodes is fast enough and there seem to be little competition for copper ores in the area.
You will encounter occasional mobs that would attack you while mining a vein. Be sure to loot them as well. That would bring in additional gold for your bank. But when you’re goal is to mine for copper ores then you must not be distracted by the mobs.
But if you want to level your cooking skill and want to farm for linen cloth as well then kill everything you see. Although when you do so, you would be eating up the time for mining for copper ores. The good thing is that you’ll have linen cloth and food that you can sell on the Auction House as well. You have to look at it at all sides and find out if it is profitable to just mine or farm for other things as well.
The math is simple. You just have to farm for copper ores for at least an hour every day. In just a week you can get a minimum of 140gold. And that’s just an hour. What if you farm for 2 to 3 hours a day? Then your gold would surely be coming in faster. But then again, your profit will depend on the price of copper in the Auction House. If the price is too low then don’t sell your copper ores yet. Wait for a while for the market to improve and then sell your stock.
Farming for copper ores in the Elwynn Forest is a good way to build up your gold using a low level Alliance toon. With everyone switching to herbalism, this would be the right time to mine uncontested.
