Expedition Armory Runecloth Farming

Runecloth farming is made easy when The Burning Crusade arrived. In the Classic World of Warcraft days, runcloth is farmed inside instances. But today, the Outlands is a good source for runecloth. If you’re with the Alliance, one such spot is the Expedition Armory. It is located south of Honor Hold in the Hellfire Peninsula.

In the Expedition Armory you can find three mobs, which are Unyielding Footman, Unyielding Knight and Unyielding Sorcerer. Runecloth drop rate from these mobs are around 34%. But the best mobs to look for are the Unyielding Sorcerers. These ghosts would usually drop more than one runecloth more often than the Unyielding Knight and Unyielding Footman.

One way to do this grind is by starting on the line of Footmen on the east. Start from the top going down. Then go to the west and start circling the tower. Once you finished the mobs around the tower, the Footmen would be respawning. Then restart your grind at the beginning.

One hour of farming this spot yields an average of 120 runecloths and at least 20 netherweave cloths. Not to mention the gold, vendor trash, and green items that could be looted from the mobs as well. Runecloths are in demand these days because a lot of players are building their reps for the Diplomat achievement. While others might find the netherweave cloth to be a nuisance, any loot you gather would mean more gold for you. Plus, netherweave cloth costs more than a runecloth.

What’s best about the Expedition Armory is the respawn rate of the mobs in the area. This is a quest area so expect some competition while farming. And once the secret is out, you might encounter some farmers as well. I suggest farming during the off-peak of our server but then again if the farmers are of the professional kind then I suggest that you find another spot to do your own farming.

Overall, farming for runecloth in the Expedition Armory is a profitable endeavor. You’ll be looting gold that could cover your repair bill. The runecloths and other items would be compensation enough for your time and effort. Farming in the Outlands is far better and profitable than in Azeroth. You’ll be getting more gold per mob and the items looted would sell higher than the loot in the old world. Even the vendor trash costs around 1gold each. Not bad for something that’s only discarded.
