Azshara is a popular farming area in the World of Warcraft. There are lots of farming mobs here. In the central north part of the map you’ll find the Timbermaws. Although Timbermaw rep is relatively useless these days, these mobs do mageweave and runecloths. Plus, chests do spawn in their area.
Then head on East to find the Blood Elves. There are two types of Blood Elves in the area, Reclaimers and Surveyors. These mobs are a great source of Runecloths. What I like about these Blood Elves is that they have low HP and are relatively easy to kill. You have to be prepared for their attack though because they hit hard.
If you are adventurous, you could also grind Legashi Demons for their green, blue and occasional purple items. Not only that, they drop Runecloth, Demonic Rune and Felcloth as well. Of the three demons, I suggest grinding the Rogues.
These three spots would be usually overfarmed and tend to be crowded. If that is the case then get ready to bust some ghosts. Not a lot of people know this but one of the best farming mobs in the World of Warcraft could be found in the Shadowsong Shrine, which is located at the hills of Western Azshara. The shrine is haunted by the Highborne Apparitions, who are looking to protect their territory against anyone who dare enter it.
These ghosts of Highborne have a good drop rate for Mageweave cloth. In just an hour of farming I got 130 Mageweave. The downside is that there’s at least 2 minutes of down time to wait for them to respawn but even with the downtime this is a nice place to grind. Mageweave can fetch 15silver a piece. Plus they do drop a lot of greens.
One thing about these Highborne Apparitions that I could give is that they do cast fear when their health is low. Although the Fear effect is short, 3 seconds, you might run into adds. You must keep that in mind always.
As you can see, fighting ghosts could be good for you. Farm the Highborn Apparitions for at least 1 hour a day and you have around 20gold added to your bank. That amount would still depend on the cost of Mageweave in your server. The Highborne Apparitions of Shadowsong Shrine is, in my own opinion, the best grinding mob in Azshara.
