Once you’ve reached level 40, there are a couple of spots in the World of Warcraft that you can farm for gold. There are two spots in which you can solo while there’s one that you might need a help from a high level friend. Here are the places that you can go to farm for gold.
Badlands’ Rock Elementals
Level 37 to 40 Rock Elementals could be found at the North West or East of the Badlands. Once you’ve reached their camp, start grinding them. Kill each and every Rock elemental you find and loot everything they drop.
They drop considerable amount of vendor trash plus items such as Solid Stone, Deeprock Salt, and Elemental Earth that you can sell at the Auction House for more gold. Rock Elementals are good grind mobs that can give you lots of WoW gold.
Scarlet Monastery
You can get lots of WoW gold in this instance. Even if you got to share some with a level 70 friend, it would still enough for both of you. All you need to do is to run the Library, Armory and Cathedral again and again.
You might be able to run the instance with a normal group but your share of the gold and loot would diminish. To maximize your gold potential, it is best to just run it with a friend who would be willing to give you all the gold and loot.
The best grind spot in the Scarlet Monastery would be the Graveyard. The Forsaken Spirits in that area would drop around 1 to 8silver per kill. Plus they also drop vendor trash and green items. Best of all, you can solo these mobs because they are level 30 to 32 non-elites. They might come in groups of threes but a level 40 Hunter had no trouble grinding these mobs.
Stranglethorn Vale’s Adventure Co. Geologists and Murlocs
If you’re in a PVP realm, you’ll know that Stranglethorn Vale is gank city. If you’re in a PVE realm then you can grind any mob in STV. But if you belong in a PVP server, the best farming spot would be at the North East of STV. There you’ll find Adventure Co. Geologists. The Geologists are a great source of Silk and they have a good drop rate for green items. They can be easily killed.
But if there are players from the other side farming the Geologists and you simply can’t kill them, then head to the Murlocs. Chests usually spawn at this spot and the Murlocs go down fast. They drop around 1 to 3 silver with each kill.
