If your gold supply could use a little boost, if you discovered you didn’t have enough money for repairs, or if you just want to ensure that doesn’t happen, then set aside a little time for farming. Light feathers are used by an array of players in the game. Priests need them for levitate, mages need them for their slow fall, and leatherworkers need them to craft some of their items (even at higher levels).
Light feathers are not hard to find at all, and you can farm them at a pretty low level. Head north from Crossroads until you are getting very close to Ashenvale. You’ll notice there is a line of mountains. You’re going to want to turn left off of the road and run along side those mountains that pass through to enter Ashenvale (do this on the Barrens side!).
You’ll soon find an area crammed with harpies. They drop a good amount of light feathers, but you’ll likely get some nice greens to sell on ah or have disenchanted. In my experience, the drop rate for greens is usually very nice among these harpies. Watch out, there is one elite that roams through the area!
Harpies are mostly around level 12-15 and the elite is around 19-20. You can expect your stack to sell for 3-10g depending on your server. (Tip: Use the option of controlling the auction house for light feathers as was explained in an earlier post!)
