Winterspring Farming Part 2

Last time I talked about Winterspring Owls, ghosts, dragonkins, and Frostsabers in Winterspring. You might think that this is all that this place has to offer. There are two more mobs that you can grind while you’re in Winterspring. These mobs have the potential to make you richer quickly.

This winter wonderland is home to the legendary yeti. I discovered the Ice Thistle Yetis while questing and found out that these creatures are good for skinning. Skinners can get Rugged Leather and Thick Leathers from the Ice Thistle Yetis. Stacks of these leathers can be sold over the Auction House for a considerable amount of gold.

If you’re unfortunate enough not to be a Skinner, you can still grind on Ice Thistle Yetis. These drop good vendor trash, green items and the occasional blue items. They might not have a special item drop but their vendor trash alone makes it worth the grind.

You might be wondering where to find these yetis. Well, you can find a bunch of Ice Thistle Yetis at the north and east of Everlook. You will not miss them as they have big camps at both directions. I find their northern camp to be more suitable for my farming needs. There’s not much downtime waiting for respawns. After the last mob drops, your first mob killed will be respawning at that moment.

Another Winterspring mob worth mentioning is the Frostmaul Giants. These mobs are the only source of the Alchemy recipe for the Greater Frost Protection Potion. Its drop rate these past days have significantly increased but still you can sell it for at least 10 to 15gold in the Auction House. Last time I farmed the giants, I got 3 in an hour.

I suggest grinding on the Frostmaul Giants when you’re already level 60 and above to maximize your farming potential. The recipe is the only reason to farm these mobs. Other than that I suggest going further down south towards Darkwhisper Gorge as I’ve stated in my previous post.

As you can see from my two posts, Winterspring is a region neglected by farmers when The Burning Crusade arrived. It doesn’t mean that its value has diminished. It’s just the case of farmers going to newer pastures. You should use that knowledge and make Winterspring your farming spot. At least you would not be nudging elbows with other farmers as they’re busy farming over at the Outlands.
